There are spectacular views of the gulf, Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island from the private balconies of the 318 rooms (of which 27 are suites) at the 31-story hotel. Driven by a playful and modern take on the Dubai hotel’s sense of place, the brand’s design-led personality permeates every aspect of a stay here – from the rooms and amenities to the dining and nightlife venues. The Arabian traditions of storytelling, folklore and souks are huge influences, as seen in the snake charmer-inspired backdrop and floors of the welcome desk. A rich tapestry flows off the wall and onto the ceiling of the lobby to transform into an illuminated glass installation reminiscent of colorful precious gems found in a treasure chest. Elsewhere, framed traditional daggers and gold jewelry on the walls nod to the region’s heritage in an otherwise contemporary setting.
Rooms are bright and spacious with bold jewel-toned and brass accents. Design details include Arabian Nights-inspired Moroccan lamps, ribbed white leather bed headboards that remind you of dhows (traditional boats), treasure chest bedside tables, chairs with brass decorative motifs and delicate curtains that reveal spacious walk-in wardrobes. Marble bathrooms come with separate bathtubs and showers and dressing tables have lighted makeup mirrors.
Pretend you’re on a tropical island vacation at the poolside terrace of all-day boho lounge Ginger Moon where the menu features everything from healthy salads and grills to pasta and pizza. Take advantage of a sunny afternoon and lively DJ sets in a cabana at Wet Deck and dip into the infinity pool to appreciate the gorgeous views.
The 31st-floor rooftop lounge Attiko is one of the best spots in the city for an expertly crafted sundowner with pan-Asian bites and vistas to match. DJ sets, live performances, parties and music acts mean you’ll end up staying longer than intended.
