Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola helped create the ambience by using colors such as black and white, and mixing materials such as wood and malachite. The common areas are dark and atmospheric: the spa-only lap pool backlit with a deep green, the steam room with tiled loungers and the relaxation room’s tan spa beds invite you to sink deeper into relaxation.

Next, you’ll have a customized ritual to rejuvenate your hair and scalp. Then you will enjoy a pampering scalp, arm and hand massage followed by a blowout.
- Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa therapies were crafted through consultations with specialists in traditional Chinese medicine and masters of aromatherapy. Treatments combine hands-on bodywork with the therapeutic benefits of custom-blended essential oils.
- All Signature Treatments and Journeys begin with a relaxing foot ritual, a symbol of you leaving the temporal world behind as you begin your spa experience.
- Some treatments utilize Mandarin Oriental’s signature product line developed specifically for the hotel by world-renowned brand Aromatherapy Associates. The natural oils and body scrubs are all paraben free.
Things to Know
- If you book the spa’s Time Rituals, which encourage you to reserve time rather than specific treatments, your service can be tailor-made to meet your specific wishes and state of mind.
- You’ll be advised to arrive about 45 minutes prior to your treatment to allow for time to unwind in the Oriental steam room and relaxation area.
- Personal training and private yoga sessions are available upon request in the fitness center.
The Treatments
- The Valmont facials are a luxurious top-seller. The renewing treatments purify, balance and refine the skin texture.
- The 90-minute Oriental Meridian Massage focuses on pressure points and the directional flow of the qi in the body.
- Another popular choice is the 50-minute reflexology massage. The massage starts from the toes, moving up to the knees and focusing on muscular flexibility, joint mobility, blood circulation. It helps remove toxins from the body.
