Bulgari Hotel Tokyo

An opulent and intimate boutique hotel
VERIFIED LUXURY

Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, which opened in April 2023, is the talk of the town. To access the hotel, you enter through a discreet corridor in the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu high-rise building, one of the city’s tallest. A dedicated elevator takes you to the 40th-floor lobby with a commanding view of Tokyo and a palatial lobby filled with sparkling jewels. Bulgari Hotel Tokyo showcases Italy’s high culture while promoting the best of Japanese hospitality.

Japanese sushi superstar chef Kenji Gyoten oversees Sushi Hōseki, an eight-seat traditional restaurant serving Japan’s finest omakase (chef-curated) course menus. Known for his eye for high-quality fish, Gyoten has exclusive connections that allows him to source hard-to-find ingredients from all over the country. Il Ristorante is authentic Italian made with the best local products, all orchestrated under the watchful eye of celebrated chef Niko Romito.

With world-class dining on top of an elite spa, rooftop bar and more, Bulgari Hotel Tokyo is the rare hotel where you’re content staying on the premises for your entire visit.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Bulgari Dolci Boutique is the signature sweet shop in the lobby making handcrafted, brand-exclusive chocolates and cakes. The Bulgari Hotel Tokyo-only pear and caramel chocolate as well as the other treats are displayed like jewels in the glass cabinets.
  • The 45th-floor Bulgari Bar is an Italian bar and garden — only it’s on the top of a Tokyo skyscraper. The inside is decorated with an elaborate mosaic and the extensive outdoor area is furnished with cane chairs among lemon trees. It’s the ideal place to try an Alba cocktail made of apricot vodka and sparkling dasai sake.
  • The meticulous fusion of Japanese and Italian cultures is evident in the food and beverage offerings in the Tokyo hotel. Choose to nosh on nigiri at Sushi Hōseki or sample suckling roast pig, handmade ravioli and other Italian haute cuisine at Il Ristorante.
  • Bulgari displays its original works of art — one-of-kind jewelry and watches — in the lobby. The pieces are rotated seasonally. Vintage Bulgari sketches are also hung in the hallways and hotel rooms.
  • The beautiful, 25-meter pool in the Bulgari Spa is worth a visit, even if you don’t swim. With its exquisite Italian-style mosaics and fountains, it’s an ideal space to relax with private cabanas.

The Rooms

  • A boutique hotel of 98 rooms, the property is a tranquil, residential-feeling space for escaping the busy city. The wood-paneled hallways are quiet and facilities, unlike other places in Central Tokyo, are never over-crowded.
  • Each of the rooms and suites is decorated in a palette of saffron orange, gold and beige, making it inviting and warm. Accommodations have a strong focus on design (silk headboards, silver lamps) and luxurious comfort.
  • Every aspect of the guest’s overnight experience has been curated with a meticulous eye, from the sumptuous towels and pajamas to the Rivolta Carmignani bed linens and, naturally, Bulgari bathroom amenities.
  • Rooms and suites in the luxury hotel contain fine Italian furniture and luminous textiles from Hosoo, the historic Japanese textile producer renowned for its kimono fabrics.
